Trails and Runs

Trapping Valley

The Trapping Valley is the area between Cliff Ski Out and Trapping Ridge.

The main trail is the LCM (Larry Curly and Moe) used to get back from East Peak. Many skiers now jump down from the Cliff Ski Out to the LCM so there are numerous tracks.

The X country people have added the Van Nain trail to their map. I assume it is the one that ends behind the Black Forest toilets, correct me if I am wrong.

The Upper Copper Kettle X country trail joins Cougar Cuttoff to the Cliff Ski out. It is a great snowshoe trail but not a down hill ski trail. It does however catch you if you have gone too far skiers left in the valley

Sue and I flagged a new trail we called the Trapping Ridge trail. It is a skin friendly trail to get over Trapping Ridge and connect to the LCM. You can find the entrance about 2 thirds the way south on the top of the Trapping CC.

If anybody has names for runs down inside the horseshoe please send them to me.
